About the congress

The 14th International Multithematic Bio-Medical Congress (IMBMC) takes place on 19–21 November 2026 (Thursday to Saturday) in the south of Nicosia, at the Cultural Centre Auditorium on the European University Cyprus campus in Engomi. It is organised by the School of Medicine of European University Cyprus together with the Cyprus Medical Association (CYMA), which awards participants 23 CME (continuing medical education) credits.

The series began in 2013; the 13th congress took place on 6–8 November 2025, also on the EUC campus. According to the organisers, more than 80 internationally renowned scientists are plenary speakers in 2026; besides Cyprus and Greece, the programme lists speakers from institutions in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, the United States and Canada. A list of participating countries and the expected number of delegates have not been announced. The registration form offers student, academic, nurse and doctor categories.

The official language of the congress has not been announced; the programme is mostly in English, with one session and one talk marked as being in Greek. The 2020 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, Prof. Emmanuelle Charpentier, is in the programme as honorary keynote speaker on 20 November.

According to the final programme, sessions cover areas including:

  • Environmental conditions, public health and global warming
  • Medical genetics, proteomics and bioinformatics

  • Respiratory medicine: sleep apnoea, COPD, asthma
  • Thrombosis and cardiovascular surgery
  • Mental health and healthy ageing
  • Oncology

  • Pre-participation medical and cardiac screening of athletes (session in Greek)
