Near East University Fall Semester Graduation Ceremonies 2027: Where Families Can Stay

About the ceremonies

Near East University (NEU, Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi) holds graduation ceremonies in January or February for bachelor's, master's and doctoral students who complete their studies in the fall semester. The university's 2026-2027 academic calendar lists the fall semester graduation ceremonies on 19–20 January 2027 (Tuesday–Wednesday).

This is the planned date in the calendar, not a confirmed programme. Which faculty graduates on which day and at what time, the venue and the attendance arrangements have not been announced yet. Please confirm the exact date with the university or the graduate's faculty before booking flights and accommodation.

Past fall ceremonies were held at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre (AKKM) on campus: the 2023-2024 ceremonies took place on 8 February 2024 and lasted all day, the 2024-2025 ceremony was held in two sessions, and most recently the 2025-2026 fall ceremony in January 2026 was also held in two sessions, with 500 graduates receiving their diplomas. The 2025-2026 spring graduation, by contrast, was held at NEU Event Park, so the venue can change from one semester to the next. According to news reports, graduates' families attend the ceremonies.

What families should know

• Venue: the main hall at AKKM seats 700; the venue for 2027 has not been announced.
• Sessions: past ceremonies were split into sessions by faculty; find out the graduate's day and session time in advance.
• Invitations and guest numbers: not announced; ask the graduate's faculty.
• Parking, shuttles and live streaming: not announced.
• Diploma distribution: listed separately in the academic calendar for 1–5 February 2027.

Getting to Nicosia and where to stay

Visitors flying to North Cyprus arrive at Ercan Airport. The road distance from the airport to our apartment buildings is 26–32 km, about half an hour by car depending on traffic. From our buildings, the NEU campus is 5–7 km by road, roughly 8–10 minutes by car without traffic (estimated from OpenStreetMap data).

North Houses offers fully equipped studio and two-bedroom daily rental apartments in four buildings in Nicosia; the two-bedroom flats give families travelling together separate rooms.
